In an effort to test the feasibility of television in the home, a demonstration over a wire unit, and radio unit, was held at the Farnsworth Television Laboratories in Philadelphia, July 30th, and was witnessed by newspaper executives, radio engineers and many other interested spectators. Robert A. Rutherford is shown holding the conical receiver, which picks up the picture for transmission. The motion picture projection machine used in the tests is shown in the photo.
