The image showcases the rich European culture and distinct 19th-century style that characterized this era. In the foreground, we see two senior men, possibly father and son, engaged in their retail occupation as rag and bone men. Clad in traditional clothing of the time, they navigate through poverty-stricken neighborhoods with their collection of rags for sale.
