6262997 The monkey with glasses reading a book, 1501-03 (monochrome fresco) by Signorelli, Luca (c.1450-1523) (workshop of); Museo dell Opera del Duomo (MODO), Orvieto, Umbria, Italy; (add.info.: Alberi Library, a cycle of monochrome frescoes where famous classical masters of different subjects are represented (law, medicine, astronomy, grammar), attributed to Luca Signorellis pupils, 1501-1503: detail of the most famous and most curious drawing of the monkey with glasses that opens a book where the phrase Legere et non intelligere est negligere appears (Reading and not understanding is equivalent to not reading). A moral maxim of an anonymous author dated approximately around the third century and become very famous in schools, especially for students of Latin grammar.

Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang.
