Saronno, Santuario della Beata Vergine dei Miracoli: la cupola del transetto con il grande affresco Assunzione della Beata Vergine, meglio noto come Coro di angeli musicanti vera e propria allegoria del Paradiso, affrescata da Gaudenzio Ferrari a partire dal 1534.A raffigurare il Paradiso e essenzialmente la moltitudine delle presenze angeliche, poste a far da corona al volto di Dio e ad accogliere l arrivo della Vergine.Gli angeli musicanti compongono la piu variegata orchestra di strumenti a corde ed a fiato ed a percussione che mai sia stata dipinta.Si possono contare ben cinquantasei diversi strumenti musicali, i piu riconoscibili come strumenti antichi, altri usciti dalla fantasia dell artista.
