Two prominent figures of the past stand together in this historic print. William Jennings Bryan, a lawyer and politician, is seated to the left with his hands clasped together. Clarence Darrow, another well-known attorney, stands opposite him with his arms folded across his chest. The image captures a pivotal moment from the Scopes Trial in 1925 when proceedings were temporarily moved outdoors due to sweltering heat inside the courtroom. A desk and two chairs are positioned on a balcony overlooking a fan that helps circulate air for relief from the oppressive temperature outside was not visible but implied by context.
