EDITORS COMMENTS
. In this photo print, we catch a rare glimpse of KA-597, also known as the Thresher or Foxtail Shark. With its impressive size ranging from 16.5 to 20 feet long, this deep-sea dweller is truly a force to be reckoned with. Feeding on squid and fish, our stealthy protagonist corrals its prey using its elongated tail before stunning them with powerful slaps. And let's not forget about those small yet razor-sharp teeth that make quick work of any unfortunate meal! Sadly, these magnificent creatures are facing a decline in numbers due to overfishing for their meat and fins. It's crucial that we protect their habitats in the Eastern & Western Atlantic, Central Pacific, and Indo-west Pacific regions. As Kurt Amsler captures KA-597 from below in crystal-clear waters, it becomes evident why this shark is so elusive. Its sleek silhouette against the backdrop of the vast ocean reminds us just how mysterious and awe-inspiring marine life can be. So dive into this mesmerizing image and join us in celebrating the beauty of wildlife like never before! Let's ensure future generations have the chance to witness these incredible creatures thriving in their natural habitat.
