Apollo command module hatch

Apollo command module hatch. This hatch was redesigned after the Apollo 1 preflight test fire, to make it easier to open. The fire killed all 3 crew members on board. The Apollo 1 door opened inwards and took a minimum of 90 seconds to open due to several latches that had to be operated by ratchets. Photographed in the National Air and Space Museum, Dulles, Washington DC, USA

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the Apollo command module hatch, a significant piece of history in space exploration.
