The bulk of testes consists of seminiferous tubules, the site of spermatogenesis. These are arranged in testicular lobes that radiate from a central plexus, the rete testis. Spermatozoa pass through the rete testis into the cap-like epididymis via 12 small ductuli efferentes (4 visible here). Sperm mature in the epididymis and are stored in its lower part until passing into the vas deferens (left, entwined with artery & vein) during ejaculation
