Reginald was a former student of Hendersons Mining School, Truro, and an associate member of the Institute of Mining Engineers. In 1919 and 1925 he is recorded as living at Hillside, Tregurrian, St Columb Minor. By 1936 he had moved to Kearsley Road, Reading, Berkshire. Photographer: F.C. Elger, Falmouth

This print takes us back to the year 1901, capturing a moment in time at Central Board School in St Columb Major, Cornwall. Amongst them is Reginald Colwell James, born in 1890 and later becoming an esteemed member of the Institute of Mining Engineers. In subsequent years, records show him residing at Hillside in Tregurrian, St Columb Minor. As time went by, Reginald sought new horizons and opportunities beyond Cornwall's borders.
