Saddle up... Pupils at Bradley Junior School have been collecting copper for the Riding

Saddle up... Pupils at Bradley Junior School have been collecting copper for the Riding for the Disabled Association.
Every week year three pupils have been sticking their change on to a picture of a pony. This raised £ 4 for the association, which was boosted by a gift from the school. Alma Brambles, of Flockton, received the cash and brought her horse Silver to the school. She talked about the association and let pupils pat Silver.
The collection was connected to pupilsrecent work on animals and caring for other people.
Stephanie Thompson and Jonathan Duffin are pictured showing the results of the collection. 23rd May 1991

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this heartwarming photo print, titled "Saddle up. . . Pupils at Bradley Junior School have been collecting copper for the Riding for the Disabled Association" we witness a beautiful display of compassion and generosity. At Bradley Junior School, year three pupils have embarked on a remarkable mission to support the association by sticking their spare change onto a picture of an adorable pony every week. Their efforts resulted in an impressive £4 donation to the Riding for the Disabled Association, which was further enhanced by a generous gift from the school itself. The recipient of this heartfelt contribution was Alma Brambles from Flockton, who arrived with her beloved horse Silver to personally receive the funds. During her visit, Alma not only expressed gratitude but also took time to educate and inspire these young minds about the incredible work done by the association. To make it even more memorable, she allowed each pupil to pat Silver gently while sharing stories about caring for animals and others in need. Stephanie Thompson and Jonathan Duffin can be seen proudly displaying the fruits of their collection efforts in this image captured on May 23rd, 1991. This snapshot encapsulates not just a moment frozen in time but also serves as a testament to how children's empathy can create ripples of positive change within their community.
