The event at Holmfirth Civic Hall raised around £ 600 for the BBC Children In Need Appeal. All the children who took a teddy bear to the picnic were given a free tea. Also featured were a story corner for younger children and a book stall run by The Childrens Book Shop, Lindley - which gave a donation from its sales to the Children In Need Appeal. 22nd November 1987
