Beryl Burton and Henry Cooper stand side by side, radiating with pride as they are presented with the coveted Top Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year Awards. Beryl Burton, an extraordinary racing cyclist and one of Britain's most revered athletes, commands our attention. Her unparalleled dominance in women's cycle racing is evident through her staggering achievements - over 90 domestic championships conquered, seven world titles claimed, and numerous national records shattered. Notably, she astounded the world by setting a women's record for the grueling 12-hour time-trial that surpassed even men's records for two years. Alongside her stands Henry Cooper, a heavyweight boxer who etched his name into boxing history. Holding multiple British, Commonwealth, and European heavyweight titles throughout his illustrious career speaks volumes about his skill and tenacity within the ring. Remarkably enough, he remains one of only three individuals to have won BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award twice through public vote.
