The Felling Silver Band, (brass band). Three years of hard work is paying off for the members of the band, formely the Heworth Colliery Band and Washington Glebe Colliery Band. In late 1987, the band was reorganised, attracting many seasoned experienced instrumentalists from the ex-championship local band. They were promoted from the fourth section in the national championship from January 1st. They make their debut in the third section at Northern area championships on March 18 at the Dolphin Centre, Darlington. The band appeared in both the 1988 and 1989 London finals having qualified as 1988 fourth section area champions. 4th February 1990

In late 1987, the band underwent a reorganization that attracted numerous skilled instrumentalists from the ex-championship local band.
