Yes it was a lovely wedding. The Queen fidgeted, Lady Diana yawned

Yes it was a lovely wedding. The Queen fidgeted, Lady Diana yawned and Prince Charles couldn t stop giggling. But they got to the church on time. The Big Wedding day was performed by the Jack and Jill nursery school at Prittlewell in Southend. The brides dress and all the trimmings were made up by mothers. Joanne Piper, 4, was Lady Diana, and four-year-old Graham Carter played a convincing Prince charles. The only upset came when Joanne refused to throw her bouguet to the bridesmaids. Tearfully she protested that it might harm the flowers - " and its rude to throw.".

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this charming print from July 1981, we catch a glimpse of an adorable reenactment of the royal wedding that captivated the world. The Jack and Jill nursery school at Prittlewell in Southend put on a delightful performance, with all the little details carefully crafted by devoted mothers. As we look at this snapshot frozen in time, it's hard not to smile at the candid moments captured during this make-believe ceremony. The Queen herself appears slightly restless, fidgeting in her seat, while Lady Diana can't hide her exhaustion as she lets out a yawn. Prince Charles seems to be thoroughly enjoying himself, unable to contain his laughter throughout the event. The young actors playing Lady Diana and Prince Charles steal our hearts with their innocence and authenticity. Four-year-old Joanne Piper embodies Lady Diana flawlessly, while Graham Carter portrays Prince Charles convincingly for someone so young. However, even amidst all the joyous festivities, there was a small hiccup when Joanne refused to throw her bouquet to the eager bridesmaids. Tearfully protesting that it might harm the delicate flowers and deeming it rude to throw them away. This nostalgic photograph takes us back to a simpler time when imagination knew no bounds and children could dream of being part of grand events like royal weddings. It serves as a reminder of how even ordinary moments can become extraordinary memories when shared with loved ones.
