Junes Ark - A Haven for the Innocent - June Coward's Unwavering Dedication to Animal Rescue

EDITORS COMMENTS
. In this heartwarming print from November 1979, we catch a glimpse of Junes Ark, an extraordinary animal rescue service run by the incredible June Coward. For over a decade, June has opened her terrace home in Kent on the Isle of Sheppey to countless abandoned and neglected animals, creating a sanctuary akin to Noah's ark. With unwavering compassion and determination, June has never turned away any creature in need. Her home is filled with an astonishing array of 70 strays including poodles, terriers, cats, budgerigars, chickens - even a tortoise and a goat! The list seems endless as rabbits and guinea pigs find solace within these loving walls. Despite already having six children of her own to care for alongside her husband Jim, June willingly takes on the extra costs associated with running such a sanctuary. To her family's understanding and support she owes much gratitude. June firmly believes that without their tireless efforts at Junes Ark innocent animals would face certain demise. Her selflessness shines through as she stands beside her daughter Julie in this touching photograph captured four decades ago. This image serves as a testament not only to June Coward's remarkable dedication but also highlights the importance of providing safe havens like Junes Ark for our furry friends who cannot speak for themselves.
