The fly is depicted in its natural habitat, perched on the petals of Coincya monensis, commonly known as Arran Cabbage or Brassica monensis. This plant is a member of the Brassicaceae family and is native to the Mediterranean region. The Miltogramma punctata is a small, slender fly with a distinctive appearance.
