This stunning chromolithograph depicts the Clivia hybrid, Prince Charles, a beautiful and rare plant that was raised by the renowned Belgian horticulturist, Charles Vermeire. The Clivia hybrid, Prince Charles, is a cross between Clivia Madame Donner and Clivia chevalier Heynderycx. The intricate and detailed illustration was drawn by Pieter de Pannemaeker and chromolithographed by Jean Lindens for Lucien Linden's Horticole, a leading horticultural publication based in Brussels, in 1896. Clivia hybrids, also known as Kaffir lilies, are tropical and exotic plants that are prized for their striking and vibrant flowers.
