This print depicts the legendary battle between Hercules and Antaeus, a giant from Greek mythology. Created by the renowned Dutch artist Martin Desjardins (also known as Martin van den Bogaert or Martin Desjardins dit Vanden Bogaert) in the 17th century, this masterpiece is a testament to the artistic brilliance of the Baroque era. Hercules, the powerful demigod, is shown standing triumphantly over Antaeus, who is depicted as a muscular, nude man with the body of a lion from the waist down.
