EDITORS COMMENTS
This evocative photograph captures the intensity and passion of a pivotal moment in Brighton & Hove Albion's 2012-13 away campaign. On a cold and rainy January 1st, the Seagulls traveled to Portman Road to face Ipswich Town in the Championship. The atmosphere was electric, with both sets of fans creating a cacophony of noise that echoed around the historic stadium. In the midst of it all, Brighton's players remained focused and determined. Led by the steady hand of manager Gus Poyet, they were on a mission to secure a vital three points and maintain their push for promotion. The team's resilience was put to the test as Ipswich pressed forward, but Brighton's defense held firm, with the ever-reliable Lewis Dunk and Adam El-Abd leading the charge. The game remained scoreless until the second half, when a moment of brilliance from Craig Mackail-Smith saw him weave his way through the Ipswich defense and slot the ball past the goalkeeper, sending the away fans into raptures. The team held on to their lead, securing a hard-fought victory and extending their unbeaten run. This photograph, taken by renowned football photographer Paul Hazlewood, perfectly encapsulates the spirit and determination of Brighton & Hove Albion during their 2012-13 season. It serves as a reminder of the team's journey, the challenges they faced, and the moments of triumph that made it all worthwhile.
