With its sleek and powerful body gliding through the waterhole near Mt Barnett in Western Australia's Kimberley region, this reptilian beauty is on a mission to find some tasty amphibian treats. Known for its wide distribution across most of Australia (except coastal regions), this snake has adapted to various environments including grasslands, woodlands, mulga, and scrub. However, it seems that wet rainforests are not part of its preferred stomping ground. With an impressive diet consisting of lizards, small snakes, frogs, birds, and even small mammals – nothing escapes the keen eye and swift strike of our slithery friend. And did you know? DH-3901 lays around eight to 20 eggs but doesn't provide any maternal care. These little ones hatch after patiently incubating for two to three months. So next time you stumble upon a puddle or waterhole during your outback adventures in Australia's vast wildernesses – keep an eye out! You might just catch a glimpse of DH-3901 gracefully maneuvering through the waterscape as it embarks on another thrilling frog-hunting expedition.
