Fuscus Fine Art Print Collection

Fuscus is a genus of cricetidae mammals, which are small rodents, and are found in North America, Central America and parts of South America. Fuscus species have short tails and ears, as well as long hind legs for jumping. They feed on insects, seeds and fruits. The most common species is the white-footed mouse (Peromyscus leucopus). This species has a grayish-brown coat with white feet and belly and can be found in woodlands, fields and gardens throughout its range. Other Fuscus species include the deer mouse (Peromyscus maniculatus) which has a reddish-brown coat with white feet; the meadow vole (Microtus pennsylvanicus) which has brown fur; and the Mexican vole (Microtus mexicanus) which has gray fur with dark stripes down its back. All Fuscus species are important to their ecosystems by dispersing seeds and controlling insect populations.
