The image is part of the renowned series "Our Trade with the East" commissioned by the Empire Marketing Board and printed by Waterlow & Sons Ltd for HMSO. The Manchester Art Gallery proudly holds an extensive collection of artist-designed posters from this era. This particular photograph captures Colombo's vibrant energy through vivid colors and intricate details. It serves as a reminder of Ceylon's rich cultural heritage while inviting viewers to reflect on how our perception has evolved since then.
