After having vainly ordered the alt, at night, to a suspicious car in a Vesuvian country, the financial guard Pietro Leardini, of the Legion of Naples, jumped on the running board, punched the windshield and she was clinging to the car, despite the fact that one of the men there struck the soldier with a beating. After five kilometers of dramatic racing, the smugglers, frightened by the energy and audacity of the Leardini, abandoned the car and fled. Five bags of tobacco were found in the car.
