Conwy is a town in Gwynedd, Wales, United Kingdom, and is located on the north coast of Wales, near the mouth of the River Conwy. The town has a population of around 14,000 people and is known for its medieval castle walls and its picturesque harbor. Conwy Castle was built by Edward I in 1283 as part of his campaign to conquer Wales and it remains one of the best preserved castles in Britain today. Other attractions include Plas Mawr Elizabethan House which dates back to 1576-1585; Bodnant Garden which features 80 acres of gardens; Aberconwy House which is one of only three surviving medieval merchant's houses in Britain; and Conwy Suspension Bridge which was designed by Thomas Telford in 1826-1828.
