Irlam Collection

Irlam is a town in Greater Manchester, England and is located on the south bank of the River Irwell and is part of the City of Salford. The population was 11,409 at the 2011 census. A long history as an industrial centre and was once home to several coal mines and brickworks. Today, it is mainly residential with some light industry along its riverside location and has excellent transport links to Manchester city centre via bus or train services from Irlam railway station which opened in 1873. There are also good road connections to other parts of Greater Manchester, including Warrington and Liverpool via the M62 motorway which runs close by. The area offers many amenities such as shops, pubs and restaurants as well as leisure activities such as golf courses, parks and nature reserves nearby.
