Gingko leaf fossil. Rock containing a fossilised specimen of a leaf from a Gingko adiantoides plant. The leaf measures 33 millimetres across. This plant was part of the flora found in the region around Saint-Marcel d Ardeche and Theziers in the Rhone Valley in southern France. It dates from around 5 million years ago during the Pliocene when the climate was warmer. This specimen is part of the Depape collection of the Science Faculty at Lille Catholic University, Lille, France
