EDITORS COMMENTS
In this iconic photograph taken by Lynne Cameron on April 4,2004, Rangers Football Club manager Alex McLeish celebrates a hard-fought victory over Motherwell at Fir Park. With a determined look in his eyes and both hands raised in triumph, McLeish embodies the grit and determination that defined his tenure as Rangers boss. The atmosphere at Fir Park was electric as Motherwell, who were in form and had given Rangers a tough challenge in previous encounters, looked poised to take the points. But McLeish and his team were not to be denied. In the 75th minute, Barry Ferguson scored the only goal of the game, sending the Rangers fans into raptures and leaving Motherwell's players crestfallen. McLeish, who had taken over as manager in 2001, had faced numerous challenges during his time at Ibrox. From financial difficulties to off-field distractions, he had steered the team through turbulent waters to keep them at the top of Scottish football. This victory over Motherwell was a testament to his resilience and the team's unwavering spirit. As the final whistle blew, McLeish led his team off the pitch, basking in the adulation of the Rangers fans. The photograph captures a moment of pure joy and triumph, encapsulating the passion and pride that comes with supporting and managing a football team.
