This exquisite watercolor on vellum, dating back to the late 17th century, showcases two magnificent species of dragonflies: the Migrant Hawker (Aeshna mixta) and the Brown Hawker (Aeshna grandis), skillfully painted by the renowned Dutch artist Rachel Ruysch (1664-1750).
