Dating back to the Norman period, this architectural gem had unfortunately fallen into disrepair by the early 19th century and faced imminent demolition. However, thanks to the valiant efforts of a local farmer who recognized its historical significance, this magnificent structure was saved from destruction. In 1850-51, under the skilled hands of Ferrey, a talented restoration architect, St. Laurence's Church underwent a remarkable transformation.
