This print titled "Le Port des Francais, Alaska" takes us back to July 1786 when French naval officer and explorer Jean-Francois Gallup de la Perouse discovered Lituya Bay in the South East part of Alaska. The artist behind this pen and ink masterpiece is Lieutenant Blondela, who showcased his remarkable talent alongside the official expedition artist Gaspard Duche de Vancy. The image portrays a breathtaking landscape with snow-covered mountains towering over the bay.
