Spitfire P7350, flies alongside Hurricane LF363

Spitfire P7350 (front) flies alongside Hurricane LF363 (back). P7350 (Mk IIa) is the oldest airworthy Spitfire in the world and the only Spitfire still flying to have actually fought in the Battle of Britain. LF363 (Mk IIC) was the last Hurricane to enter service with the RAF.
The aircraft currently wears the colours of Hurricane Mk 1 P3878 YB-W, the aircraft of Flying Officer Harold Bird-Wilson of No 17 Sqn during the Battle of Britain

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the iconic Spitfire P7350 gracefully soaring through the skies, accompanied by the Hurricane LF363. A true testament to aviation history, P7350 holds the distinguished title of being the oldest airworthy Spitfire in existence and is also hailed as the sole surviving Spitfire that valiantly fought during the Battle of Britain. LF363, on the other hand, proudly claims its place as the final Hurricane to be commissioned into service with the Royal Air Force. The remarkable significance of this image lies not only in capturing these legendary aircraft side by side but also in their historical markings. Adorned with colors reminiscent of Hurricane Mk 1 P3878 YB-W, which belonged to Flying Officer Harold Bird-Wilson from No 17 Squadron during World War II's pivotal Battle of Britain. As we gaze upon this photograph, our minds are transported back to a time when these mighty machines ruled supreme in defending our skies. The bravery and resilience exhibited by both man and machine during those tumultuous days will forever be etched into history. Credit must be given to SAC Neil Chapman for skillfully immortalizing this momentous occasion through his lens. This image serves as a poignant reminder of our armed forces' unwavering dedication and sacrifice throughout generations past.
