Great moment captured in this photograph as Robin van Persie (#10, Arsenal) scores the equalizing goal against Aston Villa's James Collins (#23) during the Barclays Premier League match at Emirates Stadium on May 15,2011. With the score at 1-1 in favor of Aston Villa, the pressure was on Arsenal to secure a crucial point to keep their hopes of a top four finish alive. Van Persie, who had already scored 28 goals in all competitions that season, rose above the Villa defense to meet a cross from the right wing, expertly glancing a header past the outstretched hand of Collins and into the back of the net. The goal brought the crowd to their feet and ignited a renewed sense of belief among the Arsenal players and fans. Despite the late equalizer, Arsenal ultimately lost the match 1-2, but Van Persie's goal proved to be a pivotal moment in their season, as they went on to secure a place in the Champions League for the following year.
