EDITORS COMMENTS
This print by Peter Groenendijk/Robert Harding showcases the beauty and cultural richness of Lake Kariba, Zimbabwe in Africa. In the foreground stands a traditional thatch-roofed house, exuding an air of authenticity and timelessness. The intricate craftsmanship of the roof is evident, reflecting the skill passed down through generations. Adjacent to the house is a grain storage structure, known as a granary. This symbolizes not only sustenance but also represents the importance of agriculture in this region. It serves as a reminder of how closely connected these communities are to their land and natural resources. The image captures more than just architectural elements; it tells a story about family and community life. The presence of people adds depth to the scene, portraying individuals who call this place home. Their portraits reflect pride and resilience amidst their humble surroundings. Lake Kariba provides an idyllic backdrop for this snapshot into African life - its serene waters stretching out into infinity against a clear blue sky. This travel destination offers visitors an opportunity to immerse themselves in local traditions while appreciating nature's grandeur. Through vibrant colors and horizontal composition, Groenendijk/Robert Harding has masterfully captured both the physical landscape and intangible spirit of Zimbabwean culture within this single frame.
