He was a key figure in England's World Cup squads in 1950 and 1954, and his leadership and defensive prowess were instrumental in helping England reach the semi-finals in both tournaments. The statue of Billy Wright, located outside Molineux Stadium, is a fitting tribute to this legendary player. Sculpted by John Walton, the statue captures Wright's determined and focused expression, embodying the spirit of a true footballing legend.
