EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the mesmerizing beauty of Namibia's Damaraland Wilderness Area. The image transports us to Twyfelfontein, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2007, where we are greeted by the majestic Brandberg Mountains. However, it is not just the breathtaking landscape that captivates our attention; it is also the Stone Age rock engravings scattered across this ancient land. The intricate engravings depicted in this photograph offer a glimpse into the rich history and cultural heritage of Namibia's indigenous people. Created by Bushmen during prehistoric times, these remarkable rock carvings serve as a testament to their artistic prowess and deep connection with nature. As we immerse ourselves in this horizontal composition, devoid of human presence, we are drawn to the animal themes prevalent throughout these ancient artworks. Each engraving represents an animal from African culture, allowing us to marvel at how our ancestors communicated through art and craft. Nature reigns supreme in this untamed wilderness as sunlight bathes the rugged terrain. The rupestrian canvas becomes an outdoor gallery showcasing humanity's earliest expressions of creativity and spirituality. This print serves as a reminder that there is much more to discover beyond modern civilization - hidden stories etched onto rocks that continue to inspire awe and reverence for both past and present generations alike.
