EDITORS COMMENTS
In this print by Kim Taylor and Jane Burton from Universal Images Group (UIG), we are presented with a stunning close-up of a Cinnabar moth perched delicately on a leaf. Against the clean white background, the vibrant colors of nature come to life as we witness the intricate beauty of this fascinating creature. The Cinnabar moth, scientifically known as Tyria jacobaeae, is showcased in all its glory with its wings spread wide open. Its body is adorned with shades of red and grey, creating an eye-catching contrast against the green leaf it rests upon. The horizontal composition allows us to appreciate every detail - from the delicate patterns on its wings to its slender legs gripping onto the surface. This studio shot provides an overhead view that gives us a unique perspective into the world of entomology. With no people present in the frame, our focus remains solely on this magnificent specimen and its natural habitat. The cut-out style enhances our connection with nature by eliminating any distractions and allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in this mesmerizing scene. Kim Taylor and Jane Burton have masterfully captured not only a single animal but also an entire ecosystem within one frame. This photograph serves as a reminder of how diverse and awe-inspiring wildlife can be when observed up close.
