EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the vibrant beauty of a Chromodoris coi sea slug nudibranch. Taken by Mathieu Meur in Pulau Tioman, Pahang, Malaysia, this image captures the essence of marine biology and the incredible diversity found in our oceans. The Chromodoris coi sea slug nudibranch is a species known for its striking orange and brown coloration. In this front view shot, we can appreciate its intricate animal markings and patterns that adorn its body. As a mollusk belonging to the dorid nudibranch family, it is an invertebrate gastropod with no shell. This photograph offers us a glimpse into the mesmerizing world beneath the ocean's surface. The sea slug gracefully glides across the ocean floor, showcasing its full length as it explores its habitat. Its rhinophores are also visible - sensory organs used to detect chemicals in their environment. In this natural setting captured by Meur's lens, we witness firsthand how biodiversity thrives underwater. This living organism serves as a reminder of nature's wonders and highlights the importance of preserving our delicate ecosystems. With warm water surrounding it on this reef backdrop, this macro shot allows us to appreciate every detail of this magnificent creature. It reminds us that even within such small organisms lies immense beauty waiting to be discovered.
