EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases a historical artwork of a Common Sandpiper, beautifully captured by the talented artist Archibald Thorburn (1860-1935). The Common Sandpiper, scientifically known as Actitis hypoleucos, is a migratory wading bird renowned for its graceful presence. This stunning piece of art depicts the bird in all its natural glory. The Common Sandpiper is widely recognized for its distinctive behavior and habitat preferences. During breeding season, it chooses high ground areas in northern Eurasia to build nests and feast on insects near lakes and fast-flowing streams.
