Chatrooms are areas of the internet where people can talk to others from all over the world. No-one can see anyone-else using the rooms, so paedophiles, pretending to be children, use them to groom genuine child users. Wightman claims that the Nanniebots can strike up realistic conversations with users and detect whether or not a user is in fact a paedophile by looking for classic signs of grooming
