Cucumber pollen grains. Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of pollen grains of the cucumber plant (Cucumis sativus). Pollen grains vary between species in size, shape and surface texture. They are produced in the anthers of the flower and contain the male gametes required for reproduction.
