Caught in the act - The American Dusky Flycatcher's secret dance moves revealed!
EDITORS COMMENTS
. In this snapshot captured by Glenn Bartley, we witness the American Dusky Flycatcher showcasing its hidden talent for dancing. Perched on a branch against the stunning backdrop of British Columbia, Canada, this charismatic songbird seems to be moving to its own beat. With its sleek feathers and expressive eyes, it's hard not to imagine this little flycatcher as the star of a feathery Broadway show. Is it practicing some fancy footwork? Or perhaps choreographing an avian ballet? Whatever it is doing, one thing is clear – this bird has got rhythm! As part of the tyrant flycatchers family (Tyrannidae), known for their impressive hunting skills and melodious songs, our feathered friend adds a touch of elegance to North America's diverse avian population. Its scientific name Empidonax oberholseri may sound like a mouthful but rest assured that when it takes flight or serenades us with its sweet melodies, all words are forgotten. Glenn Bartley's Nature in Print brings us closer than ever to these magnificent creatures through his lens. So next time you stumble upon one of his prints featuring our talented dancer here or any other breathtaking species from around the world - take a moment to appreciate nature's artistry and let your imagination soar!
