EDITORS COMMENTS
In this print titled "Roy Aitken sitting on team hamper February 1976" we are transported back to the vibrant atmosphere of the 1970s. The image captures a young Roy Aitken, just seventeen years old at the time, perched casually on a team hamper. His relaxed posture and confident gaze reflect both his youthful spirit and determination. The setting is Stonehaven Station, which adds an intriguing backdrop to this snapshot in time. As we peer into the photograph, we can almost feel the hustle and bustle of commuters passing by, their footsteps echoing through the station's corridors. It is as if Roy has momentarily escaped from this busy world to find solace amidst his thoughts. Jon Scan's skilled photography beautifully encapsulates not only Roy Aitken's presence but also the essence of an era long gone. The monochrome tones lend a timeless quality to this piece, allowing us to appreciate its historical significance even decades later. As we admire Turner's Memory Lane Prints collection, it is important to acknowledge that these images hold immense personal value beyond any commercial use they may have had.
