EDITORS COMMENTS
In this heartwarming photo print, a group of children from Meltham Mills Church Playgroup proudly display their creative masterpiece. Instead of using a traditional pen, these imaginative youngsters wrote the name of their playgroup with an assortment of shiny coins. As part of national play week, more than 20 children enthusiastically collected 1,000 pennies to raise funds for their beloved playgroup. The £10 raised through this inspiring initiative will be used to purchase new toys that will bring joy and excitement to the playgroup's daily activities. Located at St James's Church in Meltham Mills, this inclusive playgroup welcomes children aged two-and-a-half to school age. With September just around the corner, new members are eagerly anticipated and warmly welcomed into this nurturing environment. Mrs Lindsay Wardill, one of the dedicated staff members at the playgroup, emphasizes how crucial play is in preparing young minds for school. Through engaging activities and interactive games, these little ones develop essential skills while having fun. This snapshot captures a moment frozen in time - a testament to childhood innocence and boundless imagination.
