EDITORS COMMENTS
This print takes us on a nostalgic journey to King Lynn, Norfolk, in the year 1945. Standing tall and proud is The Customs House, an architectural marvel built back in 1683. Its timeless beauty is perfectly captured by Horace Grant's lens. As we gaze at this snapshot frozen in time, our eyes are drawn towards the River Cuse that gracefully flows alongside the majestic building. However, it appears as nothing more than a mere trickle during low tide. This natural phenomenon adds a touch of tranquility to the scene. The surrounding area showcases a charming blend of old-world charm and bustling activity. Boatswains can be seen maneuvering their vessels with expertise while rowers glide through the calm waters nearby. A picturesque bridge connects both sides of the river, allowing pedestrians to traverse effortlessly between them. The buildings lining the riverbank exude history and character; each one has its own story to tell. These structures stand as witnesses to centuries gone by, reminding us of King Lynn's rich heritage. Horace Grant's photographic prowess beautifully captures this scenic view from Memory Lane Prints' collection. It serves as a poignant reminder of simpler times when life moved at a slower pace amidst breathtaking surroundings.
