EDITORS COMMENTS
In this print from April 1981, we witness the unexpected side of a football legend. Manchester City captain Tommy Booth takes a moment out of his busy schedule to receive a flu jab, showcasing his commitment not only to the game but also to his own health. Captured in the midst of an era defined by its expressions and humor, this image transports us back to the vibrant atmosphere of 1980s football. With needle in hand, a medical professional stands beside Tommy Booth as he braces himself for the injection. The shock on his face is palpable, revealing that even tough athletes like him can be taken aback by something as simple as a vaccination. This powerful snapshot serves as a reminder that illness knows no boundaries and affects everyone equally. It highlights the importance of prevention and taking proactive measures against common ailments such as influenza.
