EDITORS COMMENTS
Odin, the 6.5 foot Canadian black bear, showcases his incredible strength as he effortlessly pushes his owner's old car in this photo print. Miriam van Diger, proud owner of the 35-stone giant, relies on Odin's remarkable bear power whenever her trusty 16-year-old Volvo refuses to start during their shopping trips. With her husband Chris being an animal trainer by profession, it comes as no surprise that he has successfully taught Odin this impressive skill for their touring circus. Captured in September 1985, this snapshot perfectly encapsulates the unique bond between humans and animals. The 1980s setting adds a touch of nostalgia to the image while highlighting the extraordinary capabilities of these majestic creatures. As Odin exerts his force on the vehicle with ease and determination, one can't help but marvel at his sheer strength and agility. This photograph not only celebrates Odin's exceptional abilities but also serves as a reminder of our interconnectedness with nature. It reminds us that even in modern times when motorized transport dominates our roads, there is still room for awe-inspiring partnerships like that between Miriam and her beloved bear companion. Dennis Hutchinson expertly captures this momentous display of teamwork and humorously illustrates how even a seemingly mundane task like jump-starting a car can become an unforgettable spectacle when accompanied by such extraordinary companionship.
