EDITORS COMMENTS
In this print from Memory Lane Prints, we are transported back to the 1980s and introduced to an extraordinary creation by sculptor Albert Guibara of California - the Hippomobile. This bizarre yet fascinating car is hailed as the ideal vehicle for navigating through the concrete jungle. Guibara dedicated four months of his artistic prowess in crafting a remarkable copper and brass body for an old Ford convertible, transforming it into a true work of art. The result is a mesmerizing fusion of automotive engineering and sculpture that challenges conventional notions of what a car should be. The Hippomobile stands as a testament to Guibara's ingenuity and creativity, pushing boundaries with its unusual design. Its presence on the streets undoubtedly turned heads, leaving passersby bewildered by its unique appearance. This photograph captures not only the physical manifestation of Guibara's vision but also serves as a time capsule for an era defined by innovation and experimentation. It encapsulates both artistry and craftsmanship within one frame, showcasing how even everyday objects like cars can become canvases for self-expression. As we gaze upon this image, we cannot help but marvel at Guibara's ability to transform something ordinary into something truly extraordinary. The Hippomobile represents more than just transportation; it embodies imagination unleashed onto wheels – weird yet undeniably wonderful.
