EDITORS COMMENTS
In this intriguing print titled "Animal: Friendship: Fox and Chickens" we are introduced to Rommella, the desert fox, who has caused quite a stir in animal circles. People cannot help but wonder why a fox would choose such unusual companions - a pair of egg-laying hens. Rommella's friendship with these chickens is both heartwarming and perplexing. As she stands proudly beside her feathered friends, it becomes evident that their bond goes beyond mere tolerance; they genuinely care for one another. The image captures the essence of an unlikely alliance formed by creatures from different worlds. The big-eared Rommella seems to have taken on the role of guardian for her chicken companions. With her watchful eyes and attentive posture, she ensures their safety in an environment where predators lurk at every corner. This photograph was taken in February 1972, during a time when friendships like these were considered extraordinary even within the diverse animal kingdom. It serves as a reminder that true friendship knows no boundaries or species barriers. As we gaze upon this snapshot frozen in time, we can't help but marvel at the cuteness factor displayed by this peculiar trio. Their connection challenges our preconceived notions about inter-species relationships and reminds us that love and friendship can blossom in unexpected places.
