EDITORS COMMENTS
In this photo print, we are transported back to the vibrant atmosphere of The Tenth National Jazz and Blues Festival in 1970. Standing at her popcorn stand, Heather Binks, a cheerful salesgirl, becomes an emblematic figure of the event. Plumpton Race Track in Streat, East Sussex served as the backdrop for this four-day extravaganza that took place from August 6th to 9th. The image captures not only the essence of entertainment and music but also provides a glimpse into the cultural zeitgeist of the era. Surrounded by a sea of jubilant festival-goers - hippies adorned with flower crowns and fans eagerly awaiting their favorite artists - Heather's presence adds an element of nostalgia to this snapshot from Memory Lane Prints. As she serves up bags filled with freshly popped corn, one can almost hear the infectious melodies emanating from nearby stages. This photo encapsulates both the joyous spirit shared among attendees and their insatiable appetite for good food amidst an unforgettable concert experience. With its vivid colors and lively energy, this picture transports us back to a time when festivals were more than just musical events; they were transformative experiences that brought people together under one harmonious groove.
