EDITORS COMMENTS
This print from Mary Evans Picture Library transports us back to 1936, a time when the automobile industry was booming and new cars were being transported by lorry across the country. The image captures a moment in history where manufacturing, motoring, and transportation intersected to bring these sleek new vehicles to eager customers. The sight of rows upon rows of shiny new cars loaded onto the back of a lorry is both nostalgic and awe-inspiring. It serves as a reminder of how far we have come in terms of technology and transportation methods since that time. The black-and-white aesthetic adds a timeless quality to the photograph, allowing us to appreciate the craftsmanship and design of these vintage automobiles. Each car represents not just a mode of transport, but also a piece of history that has been carefully preserved through this stunning image. As we gaze upon this snapshot from the past, we are reminded of the importance of innovation and progress in shaping our world today.
